I knew I was angry with the Senators that caved and my first thoughts were, we're just to weak to be as mean as him. Because in the end, that's what is required. The ability to not see people suffering in order to "win".

I do think the timing and explanations could have been better. I think if that was sincerely their reason to end the shutdown, they should have worked harder for broader support and not take the first opportunity once the numbers were there. Quite frankly, Fetterman doesn't count except towards the actual count. Masto almost seems anti Democratic Party. And to not have leadership support all but guarantees calls for Schumers removal. Even if you couldn't get their vote, I'm sure at the very least you could have recieved moral support when the sh*t hit the fan and they could have publicly defended your reasons. It was a bad strategy even if it was for a good reason.
You could've given Democrats at least a week to enjoy the wins before knocking the winds out of their sail. Also, the courts were ordering SNAP to be paid immediately. The air travel restrictions would have had a negative impact on the Republicans 10X worse that Democrats. The biggest benefit for us is Congress is forced to comeback and swear in our new Congress woman from Arizona, Grijalva.
