I wouldn't have been able to tell you who Gaynor was if you put a gun to my head, and it's evident that the sentiment is at least marginally shared even in this thread. "Everyone" certainly doesn't "know".

I have no axe to grind in regards to anything other than a throwaway comment of not knowing who Gaynor was and disliking the song "I will survive" as a general statement.
