13. God tested Abraham by demanding he sacrifice his son.

Yesterday

If I recall, God changed his mind at the very last moment because Abraham, though reluctant, was willing to do the killing, thus passing this test of faith.

I know this because, decades ago, I saw a movie about the bible in which Abraham was played by George C. Scott.
