(8,114 posts)stopped at a place on Friday to grab their fish fry. They do steaks, cocktails etc. Decent place but not really fine dining. Independent place and more like a step up from a chain. A 6 ounce filet mignon was $51.99 and a 16 ounce rib-eye was $56.99. All it came with was a single side and choice of soup or salad. No salad bar. I don't drink but I'm pretty sure that given the look of the place 2 cocktails would be the end of at least a $20 bill and that would be for rail booze rather than premium stuff.
The fish fry was $12.99 and it was 3 breaded cod fingers, a small dab of coleslaw, small dab of tartar sauce, 2 very small potato pancakes about the size of a jar lid and a half slice of marble rye bread.
If a person wanted to go with a lower priced meat entree you can have a single pork chop, vegetable and 1 side for $30.99.
This is why I don't go out to eat much anymore.
