That the founders didn’t think it all the way through.

Trump’s abuses have shown that the constitution doesn’t provide as many safe guards as we thought, but that’s partly because we have a Supreme Court that has basically greenlit most of his actions (with no commentary or even reasoning), and a congress that gave up long ago on being a “coequal” branch of government.
