The Future Is Now [View all]

This failure of an administration is basically setting up a near future "Balkanization" of the United States in which we separate into 50 or more independent, self-reliant "states" or coalesce into temporary clusters of bordering areas depending upon local politics, needs, and desires.

The cohesion created by the Federal, central government will be discarded and the U.S. will need to be disarmed, demilitarized, and rendered impotent. Who will do this? Not the U.N. Perhaps a combination of Asian and European powers?

Perhaps foreign interests and current world powers, such as China, Japan, Europe, and the oil producing nations, as well as the emerging future world powers, such as India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the middle and south African nations, will finance, support, and control vital natural resources, products, and population centers.

Canada and Mexico may have to tighten their borders, build walls and limit the number of economic, political, and racial refugees that may be admitted.

It may sound like a dystopian science fiction novel but it may arrive sooner than we expect while we lie safe huddled in our cocoons of pseudo-freedom, AI fantasy, and propaganda foolishness.

This idea was first mentioned, to my knowledge, in the book Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut.
