1. I'm surprised he didn't file it in the Fort Pierce Division of the SDFL.

That would have almost guaranteed that he would have gotten Aileen Cannon as a judge, since she is the only judge in that division.

Mar-a-Lago is actually located in the West Palm Beach division. The problem that I found out after the records case is that the West Palm Division (which has 4 or 5 judges) also brings in the Fort Pierce division into its rotation, meaning that Cannon can still get brought in to hear a case (as she did for the records case).

The entire Southern District of Florida has over two dozen judges, appointed by Democrats and Republicans (including Trump) alike. So it would still be the luck of the draw, so to speak. As it would in just about any district court systems in the country.
