I think they think they think they are riding the greatest “wave” of all time and if they don’t fall off they will win power and riches beyond their wildest dreams. They are stupid and incredibly greedy, but not crazy. Ok, there are more than a few with diagnosable mental illnesses, but not nearly as over the edge as trump.
