12. Moral collapse of society, engendered by the right wing

The right wing has been working on this for decades. For one thing, it accelerated the growing schism in society between the rich and the poor. Also, it used media propaganda to increase distrust between different segments of society; in particular to convince members of one large segment of society that they are losing status due to the machinations of another segment of society, which looks down on them.

These efforts have led to the opportunity for one man, in whom all the grievances stirred up by this propaganda are concentrated, to use the situation to exercise his hate against all those who have offended him in any way, or who, deep inside, make him feel inferior in comparison. He will destroy everything to gain his revenge, and his followers will go along with it, as they believe they can pick up the pieces of what is left of this country for themselves.
