A few years ago I visited Berlin and saw the building were it all unfolded.The Berlin music hall. Hitler was dead at that moment and 52 or 552 German soldiers kept on fighting. The damage to the building is silencing. The last German stand. Don t get me wrong. My grandfather's fought the Germans in both world wars with a passion. One got 7! Front stripes the other became a luitenant general. My grandmother as young as sixteen went for the resistance. But she learned me the shocking truth. The Germans where our enemies, the invaders. But at the same time the German army were boys plucked from the fields to fight old men s wars.
