I abandoned google searches a few years ago when the results started to become overwhelmingly commercial, even for topics where advertising and jostling for a high ranking search result was grotesquely inappropriate.

I used to like the Chromium web browser and Chromebooks too but google has been lately tightening the screws on those for their own profit and the exclusion of their competition.

Huge corporations can take over supposedly open source projects like Chromium by making them so unnecessarily obtuse and complex that it takes a large army of programmers to safely fork them, quite literally an army the case of China which has its own (non-altruistic) reasons for rejecting some of google's "upgrades" and "innovations."

"Artificial Intelligence" as it is currently being sold to us is not going to make the world a better place.
