38. Yes, we've been hit hard here. Mostly small towns, rural areas. Lots of water.

We have rivers, creeks, lakes and ponds all over. It's why it's such a good place to grow stuff. But we also don't have a lot of infrastructure to handle things like this. We're on a well, so our water is okay, but too much rain can mess up septic systems.

We lost power about 6 pm last night and my son went out to get us something to eat since the power was not supposed to be restored until after 9 pm. He said he had to divert around a lot of closed roads, the low-lying areas were flooded.

Torrential rains, day after day, is not normal here. Anyone who claims the climate isn't changing, for the worse, is crazy. I grew up here, lived here most of my life, outside of the time I was in the USAF and about a year afterward. We seldom got snow, rained at night, reasonable amounts. Not terribly hot, or humid. Nothing like we have today. And every year it's worse and worse.

I appreciate everyone's concern, I never thought my little part of the world would ever be mentioned here. I wish the people were smart enough to vote for Dems, but the ignorance is strong, as it is everywhere else. We definitely need to work on education and critical thinking for all Americans.
