(6,196 posts)The aim of each party in a Presidential election is to get as many people to vote for their party as possible. Republicans also prioritize preventing people from voting Democratic. The Harris campaign would have no interest in generically larger turnout and neither would Trump's campaign. However, It would clearly have been beneficial to Harris if they could have gotten more of her own potential voters to vote. According to Pew there were 10s of millions of people who would have voted for Harris if they had voted. If the Harris campaign had been able to get just 250,000 out of those millions of potential voters to vote for her spread in the right ratio between Pennsylvania, Michigan & Wisconsin, Harris wins the election. Thereby proving that claim that higher turnout wouldn't have helped Harris as ridiculously false.
