I can relate to every word you wrote. It's been a heck of a ride these past 70 years. Some good times; some great times; some not so good times; some awful times; a lot of laughs and a lot of tears.
Sto lat! (meaning: 100 years; it's a traditional Polish song for best wishes and a long life.)

My mother died in the late 60's from a cancer that would easily be curable today.
