ICE involved in Maine shooting, official says

(Newsweek) A person was killed Monday in a shooting in Biddeford, Maine, involving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel, according to Maine House Speaker Ryan Fecteau. Fecteau, a Biddeford resident, said in a statement shared on Facebook that a shooting occurred in the city and that one person was killed. He said ICE was involved and that the Maine State Police and the Department of Public Safety were responding to gather additional details.

Yet after Trump won, Graham became a full-fledged Trump lackey.

Trump election task force to begin releasing classified intel documents

(MS NOW) A new White House task force reviewing thousands of pages of classified intelligence and law enforcement documents for evidence of irregularities in U.S. elections is expected to begin releasing documents within weeks, two U.S. officials with knowledge of the matter told MS NOW. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence, whose acting chief, Bill Pulte, has been accused by Democrats of politically weaponizing federal government information, will be part of the effort. Democrats say that Trump has placed Pulte in the position so that he can aid Republicans in the midterm elections and potentially limit voting by Democrats.

US congressman says 'IDF is lying' about his detention by settlers and soldiers

(The Guardian) Ro Khanna accused the Israeli government and military of “lying” on Sunday about the US congressman’s detention by armed settlers and Israeli soldiers during a recent visit to the Israeli-occupied West Bank. Khanna – a California Democrat – had posted video evidence on social media of Israeli settlers and soldiers blocking the path of his convoy on Wednesday in the South Hebron hills, near the village of Zanuta, where Israelis have driven Palestinians from their homes in what Amnesty International calls a government-backed “ethnic cleansing campaign”.

Congress to grill Goldman Sachs executive over newly revealed Epstein ties

(The Independent) Goldman Sachs senior counsel Kathryn Ruemmler is scheduled to testify before a House committee on Wednesday as lawmakers examine her past relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, renewing scrutiny of the Wall Street firm's decision to retain her after documents released by the Justice Department detailed previously undisclosed contacts with the convicted sex offender. Ruemmler stepped down as Goldman Sachs' chief legal officer and general counsel at the end of June after the documents became public.

(NY Times) A group of states are preparing to file a lawsuit to block Paramount’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery as soon as this week, according to four people briefed on the plans, a legal challenge that would create a major obstacle for one of the biggest media mergers in history. A draft of the lawsuit currently circulating argues that the $111 billion deal would harm competition in the market for so-called tent pole films, the expensive blockbusters that make up a large portion of studio revenues, among other claims, two of the people said.
