Related: About this forumMeltdown: Trump finally snaps amid imminent Epstein file release - Another Day - Brian Tyler Cohen
BTC: Trump wants all the Epstein info out in the open. Unfortunately, there's still some legal hurdles standing in his way. And if there's one man who respects the law, it's Donald. This is just another day.
Greed. It is a terrible trait. Never being satisfied. Truly unbecoming. And Donald Trump cannot stand it when others refuse to be content.
DJT in Oval Office: We've already given I I believe the number is 50,000 pages. 50,000 pages and it's just a Russia Russia Russia hoax as it pertains to the Republicans. Now, uh I believe that many of the people that we some of the people that we mentioned are uh being looked at very seriously for their relationship to Jeffrey Epstein, but they were with them all the time. I wasn't I wasn't at all.
BTC: That's right. And that's what's also so glaring about this endless Epstein hoax. Those folks hung around with this disgusting pedophile billionaire. Trump did not. He was usually at home cozied up with a good book, volunteering in a soup kitchen, or down in the lab trying to cure cancer. Unlike those other scumbags who saw no problem partying the night away with a serial rapist. But again, everyone is clamoring for the release of these files. And for Trump, it feels like he's been here before.
DJT: Uh, unfortunately, like with the Kennedy situation, with the Martin Luther King situation, uh not to put Jeffrey Epstein in the same category, but no matter what we give, it's never enough.
BTC: Hey, don't apologize for lumping Epstein in with those guys. He is in the same category. I mean, he had a dream, too, albeit a slightly different dream. And he asked what people could do for well, not their country, and I suppose he wasn't asking. The point is, they are all major figures in American history, and Trump is more than happy to give people whatever they want here, as long as it means we can all just move on already.
DJT: I'm for any I I don't They can do whatever they want. We'll give them everything. Sure, I would. Let the Let the Senate look at it. Let anybody look at it, but don't talk about it too much because honestly, I don't want to take it away from us. It's really a Democrat problem. The Democrats were Epstein's friends, all of them. And it's a hoax. The whole thing is a hoax. And I don't want to take it away from really the greatness of what the Republican party has accomplished over the last period of time.
BTC: Yes. What a tragedy it would be to have a distraction from all these Republican accomplishments. I mean, if we keep talking about Epstein, people will forget that they're paying more for their groceries, their health care premiums are about to skyrocket, and their president fought tooth and nail to deny food assistance to 42 million Americans. You see, the last thing Donald Trump wants is to have this whole Epstein thing drag out forever and pull focus. But sadly, that's what some Republicans in the House are trying to do.
Reporter outside Air Force One at night:
Representative Massie says he's concerned that the Epstein probe you are calling for could be a smoke screen to
launch the release of more files. Is that the case?
DJT: Well, I don't want to talk about it because fake news like you, you're a terrible reporter and fake news like you, they just keep bringing that up to deflect from the tremendous success of the Trump administration. So, a guy like Massie, his poll numbers are showing he's at 6% approval rating right now. And uh we call him Rand Paul Jr. because he never he never votes for the Republican party.
BTC: First off, that is not why people call Thomas Massie Rand Paul Jr. The reason they do that is because Massie copies every single look his elder Kentuckian friends sports. First, it was the nerdy guy with glasses. Then Rand goes for a cool dad with a beard look. And what do you know? Here comes Massie who suddenly forgot to shave for a month. Then Rand decides he wants to get a small tattoo to show he's still got some rebel in him. And lookie here, it's really pathetic. But the reason that Congressman Massie has become persona non grata in Magaland is because he has the audacity to want to expose those who partied with or enabled a sex trafficking rapist. And apparently in Republican districts, taking such a controversial stance can hurt you.
Rep. Massie on ABC's This Week: I would remind my Republican colleagues who are deciding how to vote. Donald Trump can protect you in red districts right now by giving you an endorsement, but in 2030, he's not going to be the president and you will have voted to protect pedophiles if you don't vote to release these files. And the president can't protect you then.
BTC: Can we just let that sink in for a minute? Thomas Massie is correct that at some point, regardless of what Donald Trump's hats may say, he will no longer be the president, which means he won't be around to protect vulnerable Republicans who voted to protect a pedophile. This is the difficult moral quandary, the Sophie's choice the GOP finds themselves in. And look, the fact that Donald Trump is saying that he wants all the Epstein files released should give everyone pause because this is also a man who always has multiple tricks up his sleeve. Has he been talking to his Republican minions in the Senate, telling them to not even bring it up for a vote?
Kristen Welker (Meet the Press): If the Epstein measure passes the House, will it get a vote in the Senate?
Sen. Majority Whip John Barrasso: It'll come to the Senate. We'll take a look at it. If it passes the House,
we'll see what it says.
BTC: Yeah. Who knows what it could possibly say? On one hand, it could simply be a piece of legislation demanding the release of the Epstein files, but on the other hand, it might have a small provision tucked into it requiring every member of the GOP to stab themselves in the dick. And no one wants that, right? But sorry, maybe I missed something. Surely Senator Barrasso would advocate for this bill getting an up or down vote, right?
Kristen Welker Senator, you don't commit to holding a vote if the Epstein measure passes in the House. Just very quickly, we're almost out of time.
Senator Barrasso: Well, the what I've said in what what Senate Leader Thune has said is we'll look at it. We'll look at what's come over. I don't even know that it's going to pass the House. The the Senate will make a decision. will have a discussion about it and make a decision from there.
BTC: Translation: not looking good. Senator Barrasso is dangling the prospect of an Epstein vote the same way Logan Roy talked about stepping down. No, I'd love to hand over the company to one of you lovely kids. It's just we'll have to look at all the materials, have a nice conversation, at which point I'll just tell you all to off. Look, at least we know the president won't do anything rash. I mean, he is a politician playing politics, but it's not like he's going to send American troops to die overseas for the sole purpose of distracting us.
Pool reporter in Oval Office: Mr. President, are you also potentially launching strikes in Mexico or putting
American troops or American personnel into Mexico to deal with?
DJT: Would I launch strikes in Mexico to stop drugs? It's okay with me.
BTC: Wow. You rarely hear such an upbeat tone when it comes to waging war on America's largest trading partner. Hey, who has two thumbs and can use it to launch bombs south of the border? This guy. When Trump got elected, there was a total mandate to release the Epstein files. His base, who put him in the White House, was clamoring for it. And not only did he not do it, he hung those folks out to dry.
Megyn Kelly at Turning Point USA conference: The influencers are standing there with these binders. They didn't even know they were there for Epstein. And they looked foolish through no fault of their own.
BTC: Yeah, they looked foolish through no fault of their own. as opposed to...
Megyn Kelly: He wasn't into like eight-year-olds, but he liked the very young teen types that could pass for even younger than they were.
BTC: Wow. Can you imagine how much more embarrassing that would have been if it came in binder form? Whatever happens, it is crucial to remember that Donald Trump is not some partner in transparency. He is an impediment to it. And all the proof you need is that Donald Trump could release the files today. No discharge petition, no vote in the Senate. I mean, the guy doesn't even have to get on the phone. He could just march upstairs to the newly marbled Lincoln bathroom and hang a sign in the window that says, "I'm shitting release the files," and it would get done. But now, for some reason, Trump feels hemmed in by laws. This is a guy who doesn't hesitate to send the military into American cities, doesn't bat an eye when he wants to shred the Constitution and end birthright citizenship, and will blow up any shipping vessel he wants in the Caribbean by just claiming it was a
drug boat. But all of a sudden he feels besieged by the rule of law. For Trump, laws are merely minor inconveniences along the way to doing what he wants, when he wants, how he wants. You know, the same way his best friend used to look at reluctant teenagers as minor inconveniences. So when it comes to this president desire for complete transparency on the Epstein files...
DJT: It's a hoax. The whole thing is a hoax.
BTC: Exactly.
