The video is nearly 9 minutes.
You could not have watched it.

(41,843 posts)Why should I care how you spend your time?
The idea is to make a comment about a point in the video, pro or con.
How you spend your time is not relevant on a political discussion board.
If you would like to discuss your time management skills, theres a sub Reddit called productivity. Maybe someone there will be interested.

(41,843 posts)For the House.
The Senate might be more difficult.
Once the files are released, there is the issue of trumps name being deleted. He points out there are still FBI senior agents who have seen the files in their entirety. They would be able to testify.
In the end, we have trump committing murder of Venezuelans, with at least one known to be a fisherman.
At some point, Vance is going to look like a whole lot better to republicans than this craziness.

(368 posts)for so long now, it's not funny any more. Besides, "Rebel HQ" is part of the TYT incestuous family of brands and sub-brands. David Shuster has its own baggage in addition to that.
The bar keeps getting lowered. It looks like it's a race to the bottom.

(368 posts)that they had captured lighting in a jar. I enjoyed their analysis and reporting. They seemed serious and on the right track, UNTIL... they hit 1-million subscribers, things changed. Then 2-million and things changed again (for the worse).
The reporting and analysis changed. The content was shoddy. The headlines and thumbnails were pure clickbait. Bold IMPACT font, yellow arrows and red circles ("look here, yes here, what's this?... click now and we'll tell you... maybe.'')
It became clear to me that their priority was more-more-MORE subscribers and clicks. Their videos started to become repetitive (throughout the day... but within the SAME video!!) He would read or talk about the details and in 5 minutes, we had the gist of it. Then for the next 10-15 minutes he would just find different ways to repeat what he'd already told us.
I presume that this is for financial gain through mid-roll ads. Videos over eight minutes long are eligible for mid-roll ads, which YouTube can place at multiple points throughout the content. This gives creators an opportunity to earn significantly more ad revenue from a single video compared to a shorter one, where ads can only appear at the beginning or end.
Also, "watch time" (the total minutes viewers spend watching a channel's videos) is a key metric for the YouTube algorithm. Videos with longer watch time are favored and promoted more often in search results and recommendations. Apparently, by stretching content, creators can drive up this metric, even if it leads to lower viewer engagement toward the end of the video.
This, in combination with their flirting with Betteridge's Law of Headlines (as Thom Hartmann does) makes their channels tedious and worthless to me.
I know it's competitive and that eyes, views, clicks, subscribers, memberships, patreon and interaction mean the world to these creators... but somewhere along the journey, they lost their way.
It ends up being a vicious cycle. They lose viewers and supporters by turning them off with these manipulative tactics... which causes them to need to engage in manipulative tactics even more. I've unsubscribed and "blocked" them in my personal youtube account/login... but they still show up here... wasting space, but not getting any clicks from me.
Sad.

(368 posts)If you have a good ad-blocker... that lets you choose which webpage elements to block (ie: "html "div" and elements and other consistently named/labeled columns) it's possible to block the garbage.
That is a solution that helps to improve YOUR personal experience, but the "vibe" you mentioned earlier still persists elsewhere. I guess the crutch of low-quality click-baity stuff that youtube content providers "need" is also something that benefits aggregators and other websites where links are collected and organized.

(58 posts)This won't happen. This is like all of the posts on here similar to, "Russia is collapsing!", "The Russians retreat from Ukraine!", etc....
I'd love to see Dolt45-47 forced out in disgrace but it's not gonna happen anytime soon.
There could be a leak of a video showing him molesting a live baby and then eating it and the Republicans would say, "fake news!". The Dems wouldbe terrified to do anything and clutch their pearls for 2 years like Merrick Garland and then maybe decide to do something in 2027 but then decide to let his term expire.
