Embracing Adversity: Fighting for Justice While Navigating Life in a Wheelchair - Glenn Kirschner
Peter Soby knows adversity: as a teenager, he dove into unfamiliar waters and was paralyzed. When he awoke in a hospital bed, a doctor informed him that he was a quadriplegic. As he lay in that hospital bed, he had a conversation with himself: "Peter, you have always been a positive person, and you are not going to let this change you."
Now in his mid-50s, Peter is an accomplished video editor, author and mouth-painter. He speaks to students about the dangers of living in unfamiliar waters. He has overcome incredible adversity and thrives every day.
Years ago, Peter contacted me and asked if he could volunteer to assist me in my Justice Matters efforts. I was grateful for his offer of help.
Peter is our Team Justing Editor extraordinaire, a dear friend, and my brother in justice.
I sat down with Peter and asked him to tell his remarkable story in his own words. - Glenn Kirschner - 10/26/2025.
