It was to lie like hell. It didn't work for him but it has clearly worked for Trump in the past. Trump's biggest lie so far in 2025 is when he pardoned 1500 January 6th attackers by claiming "They didn't attack the police, the police attack them. That's why I pardoned them." I'm still waiting for even one police union in America to condemn that action.
