Discussion of Trump administration, and economic policies: Larry Summers. by Katie Couric

He talks about Trump’s behavior of discord and day to day changes, dislike of his assault on higher education.

“Is this incompetence, something more sinister, or a combination of both? I think it must be both.”

“Traditionally when stocks go down, people decide they want to own treasuries and the yield goes down as more and more people try to buy them. Now stocks go down, treasuries go down, the dollar goes down.
What’s shocking is this is something we are doing to ourselves (our president is
doing to our country).”

“His (tariff) policies are outside any mainstream of respectable opinion.”

“What is your short and long term prediction for the economy if these policies continue to exist?”

“Stagflation, inflation, …. and ultimately much slower growth in standards of living”

“What is the solution to stopping Donald Trump, and at what point do the guard rails come down
completely and it’s too late?”

“I think each of us in our own way has to try to find strength and to attempt to throw sand in the gears, and attempt to explain to everyone to whom we have access why this is a particularly dangerous moment. We need to do it in a way that suggests views of calm reflection, rather than of great excitement and intensity”

The answer is impeachment; something congress has been loathe to do with their republican majority, HOWEVER.... VOTERS are needed to keep those fat cat republicans in office. If Trump's approval continues to tank UNDENIABLY, voters (even rich ones) will want him OUT. Day by day he is becoming more and more dictator... crazy-drunk with power.

Politicians NEED their voters' backing.

When that goes out the window..... so does Trump.
