A polity determined to protect its constitution and the rule of law would have impeached individual one no later than 2021. However, the Republican Party-and many of the same individuals now calling for individual one’s impeachment—chose to put party ahead of country. That effort failed.

Now, (no) thanks to those individuals’ silence and inaction, the MAGA cancer has devoured so much of the Republican Party that impeachment may be impossible.

In short: too little, far, far too late. A pity for the Republic That these people chose to put party, ideology, and hatred of Democrats ahead of Country and the US Constitution.

And according to Liz Cheney's book, after January 6th House Republicans would have voted yes on impeachment almost unanimously if their votes were anonymous. But too many were afraid of the attacks and death threats towards themselves and their families - or the threat of being primaried. As it was, 10 House Republicans had the courage to vote yes, and only two of them were reelected.
