I experienced the bicentennial and this was sure nothing like it. Back then there was a lot of pride and excitement across the country. There were parades and special events, even patriotic celebrations and movies on TV. I was in a play where I played Martha Washington. This was nothing like it, most people weren't involved, the pride was missing since it consisted of lame decisions by Donald Trump. 
This is the first time in history that any POTUS tried that - President Truman did move out of the White House temporarily when safety was a concern, his daughter and her piano were in danger of falling through the floor. But with the felon-in-chief, his prime concern seems to be leaving his stamp on everything possible.
