He tells the Pope to "stick to matters of morality." By the Pope speaking out the Pope IS sticking to matters of morality. And might I add, from a position of moral authority granted to him by the church.

And JayDee's a Catholic???? No, I mean really??? I might have goofed off in CCD class when I was young, but I know mountains more than JayDee.
