(1,974 posts)Normally I wouldn't waste 20 minutes on any content from Comcast(MSNBC), and especially not rapper-guy Melber. In this case, I did watch it, and Melber now seems a lot more serious than he has ever appeared before. In the past, you couldn't go 10 minutes without him trying to equate something to some obscure rapper lyric. This was actually a well-prepared and thorough, serious review of the Epstein disclosures to date, with historical context and useful legal context.
If not for the transition to MSNOW, independent of Comcast, I would have asked who has kidnapped Melber and replaced him with a far more relevant analyst.
I'm not ready to watch MSNOW on the regular, but I am wondering if anybody else thinks that we are seeing a change where they MSNOW actually do serious reporting without the constraints of Comcast. If so, that would be a very important development. In the past few years, I have considered them a major negative to the progressive cause because they simply would not state the obvious in so many cases.

(247,447 posts)And MS NOW is usually what I watch since they're really good on breaking news and have great guests in for analysis/explanations, like Andrew Weissmann. I haven't seen much of a change, but then since I watch them all the time, I may not have noticed. And I agree that Melber was especially good on this news story, though this particular video was all his own, not broadcast on MS NOW.
