"Injustice": How Biden's DOJ Failed to Hold Trump Accountable for Jan. 6, Corruption & More

We speak with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists Carol Leonnig and Aaron Davis on the day they publish their new book, Injustice: How Politics and Fear Vanquished America's Justice Department, which looks at how the DOJ during the Biden administration was overly cautious in pursuing cases against Trump and his allies over 2020 election interference, the January 6 riot and more. Attorney General Merrick Garland felt it was important to "turn the page from Donald Trump" and not look too closely at abuses of power, says Leonnig, who also stresses many "stubbornly brave people … tried to do the right thing and could not succeed in this institution."

Gotta admit, I loved and cheered every indictment and trial. It just didn't work as planned.

Heck, I think trump might have won yelling, debating, etc., from behind prison plexiglass.

The media always pounds democrats relentlessly for the most ludicrous scandals.

Hilary made an esoteric technical decision to host a state department server privately, same as the shrub administration did for their entire government for 8 years, it was always intended for non-classified information, but a fraction of a percent of emails were retroactively classified, which allowed republicans and a biased media to make to look like Hillary did something bad when it was barely jaywalking. No evidence of any harm whatsoever.

I worked with classified information for a few years, believe me, not even the lowliest person would get fired over this.

Yet Donnie was convicted of 34 felonies and the media let him rail every damn day of the trial, whining that it was somehow unfair because the judge had a relative who was a democrat and this inexplicably discredited the whole thing.

The media yawned as if this was just an unusual campaign event and moved on rather than sounding a 5-alarm emergency about how a criminal was about to become president.

Never mind how they complained about Biden being too old when Donnie is basically the same age and showing far more signs of mental deterioration and problems.

The fix was in, the media has amplified right-wing lies for far too long. Biden's administration got 1500 convictions, mostly with confessions and video evidence from the criminals themselves, all convicted through plea deals or separate trials with separate juries basically all coming to the conclusion they committed crimes, yet the media yawned when Donnie pardoned them all.

They went ape over Willie Horton but 1500 criminals pardoned and committing more crimes is not much of a news story for them.

What would you have Biden done? The media paved the way for Donnie 2.0 to erase everything anyway. I don't know what more Biden could have done.

Justice matters.

So maybe I should cross post to The Way Forward.

This is how you go after your political enemies.

1. With Presidential immunity from your crimes because you are the President.

and

2. Not caring how it looks.

Now go ahead and eliminate the filibuster and Democrats will be glad to use all these tools very very soon.

sworn in, he should have appointed an interim Atty Genl to go after the top level insurrectionists! Keep the Repukes on their heels and keep The Don in Maralogo on notice for his role in the insurrection.

Shame on Biden for not recognizing the urgency to save our democracy.
