I was watching Gavin Newsome on Colbert and punched in KATU channel number with my remote to see if they were indeed not airing it. There was some Newsmax show talking about Charlie Kirk on.
I will permanently leave KATU deleted on my TV channel list. My local CBS channel, KOIN, is owned by Nextstar. While iIdumped Paramount + when the news of Colberts show getting cancelled was announced I still watch CBS on that local channel but depending on how events play out I may delete that channel as well. I've been spending more time exercising and working on some computer/internet of things development project as a hobby and less time watching TV.

(243,536 posts)And my local channels are in Albany, New York. I normally watch Colbert since I post his monologue every night and I knew that TexasTowelie would post Jimmy Kimmel, as usual. But tonight I tuned into the ABC affiliate since I wanted to see Jimmy Kimmel's return.
For some reason the local news lasted till midnight though I couldn't find a sports event that delayed it. And after a long list of commercials, they showed Jeopardy! Though Jimmy Kimmel was in the local listings. So I was stuck, too, here in New York. And I have no idea why since the local CBS affiliate is Sinclair, not ABC. So I can commiserate. I really don't get it.

(1,354 posts)Please make sure you note any of the advertisers during that time and call them to let them know why you will not be taking your business to them. Specify the channel and the choices they have made. And let the channel know too.

Let them know! It WILL make a difference. If they get inundated with criticism and complaints for this, they WILL think twice about trying this shit again. And they may even choose not to repeat this mistake.
Make some NOISE!!!

(3,786 posts)...so that there is a record of complaints that demonstrates how local affiliates may not be serving their audiences and poorly representing the public interest...but it doesn't come till almost the end of the video.
