In the United States, more than 770,000 people were reported living homeless on a single night in 2024, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Trump recently issued an executive order to curb homelessness. The order encourages measures that have come under criticism, including involuntary commitment for people suffering from severe mental health issues.
