What could go wrong?

This is a part of what’s wrong with a cashless society

If I want to use my computer to access anything these days, I have to have my phone as well because of 'two-step verification'.

My phone?

Anyone can grab it and access anything because all it needs is the password and most people leave them up so that they can access their stuff faster.

So, all it takes is someone stealing your phone.

Why in the royal fuck did they do this in this way?

Simple. They want your information this easily accessible. They want you to use a phone that can easily be stolen and they don't want you to use your computer because they can't get into it as easily as your phone.

Phone service providers and manufacturers paid a pretty penny over the years to make this happen.

And, of course, we let them, Now, they hold our lives hostage because they hold the only real access device allowed without scrutiny on the internet.

All by design.

I have my phone as only a phone with texting. I do not use the browser at all and I don't have any access to any of my $$ that uses the internet, at least from my end.

I do very little on my laptop, I make few online purchases and when I do, it's with gift cards that have none of my banking info attached.

Not worth the hassle to set any of that stuff up since I don't need it.

I never let anyone touch my phone or computer.

...when they say things like "we let them" it implies we were in on it, we were aware of the possibility of being duped, or that we were even aware of legislation that allowed it. It sounds like victim blaming. We cannot be aware of everything. In fact, our awareness is necessarily limited so that we can focus on getting through the moment at hand safely and navigating to the next moments and hours and days. So, no, we didn't "let" anyone take advantage of us. We have been victimized by the sheer volume of attacks on our attention, our pocketbooks, and our lives.

People were told. No one cared, or believed.

Just like no one believed that the US government would ever drug their own soldiers for test purposes, especially without telling them/forcing them to do it. That would be just freaking evil.

And, yet...

I for one, cannot keep up with all the ways the powerful makes sure the less powerful get screwed. So, no. We don't "let them." Victims of the powerful are not the cause of their victimization.

So, they cast spell on us to make us not see their machinations for the past fifty-plus years?

Because I have seen and heard about plenty of their escapades, but they always seem to get away with it, despite the claims that 'justice was served'. Oh, they get slapped on the finger with some pittance of a fine for destroying the ecosystem of an entire river, but we 'didn't let them get away with it', eh?

We have been aware of their ego-fueled desires and pipe dreams for decades. We have also been aware of their complete lack of empathy and compassion for anyone they think is 'beneath' them. Which is everyone else on the planet. Yet, here we are. So, either there was magic involved, or we let them.

13. Because I failed in life.

I am a failure in every single aspect of the word. My messages did not get out. My attempts to educate and inform were met with ridicule or silence. I was also suffering from mental issues that may yet still take my life. I cannot even survive without help anymore.

I tried. I failed. I hate that. I feel a bit of guilt over it, even as I seethe about those who could have furthered my message/information, but no one would take me seriously.

It is partly why I wish to check out.

Does that answer your question?
