Paige Bueckers Reaches Impressive WNBA Feat; Trails Only Diana Taurasi
Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers continues to be one of the budding superstars in the WNBA, even in her second year. Bueckers was best known for her time with the UConn Huskies, which she capped off with a national title in 2025. Since then, though, she went first in the 2025 WNBA draft and has become the Wings focal point despite being in the league for less than two years.
The Hopkins, Minnesota, native has played so well this season that she has reached an impressive single-season feat that only WNBA legend Diana Taurasi has done faster. Taurasi, who was also a Huskies star, is the fastest player ever to reach 400 points and 100 assists in one season, doing it in 2013. WingsStats tweeted on X/Twitter that Bueckers became the second fastest player to do so.
Bueckers became the second fastest player to score over 400 points and notch over 100 assists after her teams recent 89-76 win over the Toronto Tempo on Sunday. She scored a team-high 22 points, to go along with three rebounds and seven assists in 31 minutes. This was Bueckers fifth straight 20-point game, en route to averaging 20.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.0 assists in 19 games this season.
Her efforts have led to the Dallas-based franchise to a 13-8 mark, good for fourth place in the West.
