Shedeur Sanders finally gets the call

Going in the fifth round had to hurt his and his dad’s egos, but hey, it’s the Browns, where mediocrity thrives.

Play in the spring league? CFL? He can't go to any other team in the NFL, Cleveland holds his rights for the next year, nor can he go back to college as his eligibility vanished upon entering the draft. He fell from a top 10 pick to the 5th round because of his attitude, holding out for a year would most likely end him up never playing football again considering what next years QB draft class is looking like.

traded up to get him. Interesting the Browns already have 4 and this pick is 5, although their main QB tore his Achilles and is gone for ALL of 2025 season. Gonna be kinda fun watching this all play out.

He’s very discerning though. Expert outdoorsman hunting and fishing. Yeah he can be an asshole but we’ve come to some common understandings. When I entered their family dynamic I didn’t understand his standing there. Me giving shit back to him was a revelation there. My wife loved it.

High altitude hunting in Colorado. Always took his Dad with him. We had elk in the freezer for years.

He might take a shot at a deer once or twice a year. He’s probably missed one shot in 20 years. He wanted me to go hunting….at 4AM? ….dud I mention that he doesn’t miss?

I think between six of them one might have had a set of antlers mounted. They were all excellent shots and never needed to track down an injured animal for a final kill shot. First time, every time and they never bragged.

That's a hunter to me. I'm not anti-hunting but I am opposed to the excesses for ego.

I have a blaze orange hat in my trunk/hatch in case I’m on the side of the road. “Hunters for the Homeless”. I’d hope they still exist. They donated needed herd management a lot. No problem with that.

day one and Haslem will pressure Stefanski will buckle, as will the GM.

Jimmy Haslem is Dan Snyder without the odious scumbag quality.

At least the Pegulas stay out of the locker room and let Beane and McDermott do their jobs with meddling with the Bills. They do it with Sabres which is why the Sabres are fucking putrid.

Apparently he didn't interview well and he didn't throw at the combine. I know not everyone does throw at the combine but if you have a reputation of a poor attitude, the last thing you want to do is not show what you can do. Maybe there is a perception of Deion as a "stage dad" and that could be a circus. Also there was a lot of hype around him versus actual body of work. If teams wanted him earlier, they would have drafted him earlier. The Browns are a hot mess though

Took a team that 4, then 1 game, then won 4 & 9 in the two years Sanders was QB with a bad offensive line and an iffy defense outside of Hunter.
Jackson State won 23 games in 2 years wit him at QB.
There is some other reason he slipped so far.
Lots of QBs with less refined skills went higher than this in recent years. Yes, some were busts, but some are still in the league.
I agree that him skipping throwing at the combine was a poor decision & I read he cane off as a spoiled brat in some interviews.
I still think there is something we don't know.
From talk of Top 10 to 5th round doesn't make sense.

It says he wasn’t that good coming out of high school, or else a bigger and better college program would have picked him up. Would he have even been a starter if his dad wasn’t coaching the team?

...to go to Jackson State wasn't motivated by wanting to play for his dad.
You may be right, but I can't be sure he's not an NFL talent because of what school he went to.
Some of the busts on the list earlier in this thread were ansolute studs coming out of HS. Too much variance in that factor for me to believe it's a surefire indicator.
