Joe Burrow to have toe surgery, will miss at least three months

The Bengals are going to be without quarterback Joe Burrow for quite a while.

Burrow left Sunday’s game against the Jaguars with a toe injury and tests showed that he suffered torn ligaments. Word on Sunday night was that Burrow was consulting with doctors to see if he needed surgery that would keep him out for most or all of the rest of the season and word of the decision came on Monday.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Burrow will have surgery and that he is set to miss a minimum of three months as he recovers from the operation. That timeline would leave the door open for a late-season return, but there’s a lot to play out between now and December so the Bengals won’t be making any plans that include him at this point.

have to start 12+ games. By that point, winning a handful of late season games may be moot.

For the third time in his short career , Joe Burrow is going to miss extended time during the season because nepotism daughter GM (Katie Brown Blackburn)and her assisstant Tobin have ABSOLUTELY FAILED at building an offensive line to protect the star QB. They haven't hit on a first three round offensive lineman since Kevin Zeitler (2012 draft) and let him walk rather than pay him a second contract. [In all fairness, Mims gets an incomplete but everyone else has been atrocious] They have also missed on every defensive lineman drafted except Sam Hubbard (2018 round 3) who was at least a passable starter for the same 13 year period (note Trey Hendrickson was a free agent acquisition)

Old Mikey is churning profits thanks to the NFL revenue sharing and idiot proof system of salary caps that make certain that all owners turn a profit.

His father said you build a team from the inside out. First draft pick was a center. Built the great Bengals team of the 1980s by taking Anthony Munoz the greatest left tackle to ever play the game. They also had a ton of above average and pro bowl type lineman until nepotism boy Mikey took over the team and jettisoned Max Montoya to save money in free agency.

They haven't had 5 guys who were good enough to start in the NFL for other teams since they drafted Joe Burrow. The backups would mostly be practice squad players elsewhere.

As a Bengals fan, I hope that Joey B demands that Katie Blackburn and Tobin get fired or he wants a trade,

PERIOD. WOuld be hard to demand that Mikey boy sells the team, but if enough players refuse to sign second contracts and demand trades hopefully he will. I doubt it because he can still roll in all those Benjamins from the TV deals, streaming deals, betting deals, that prevent even an empty stadium from preventing a profitable season.
