Not that I dislike tall players--Stan Smith from waaaay back when was one such "tall drink of water"... (I learned tennis watching video of all the players--both men and women from way back in the 70s LOL)

But Alcaraz's game is beautiful to watch. Albeit I do like Sinner's two-handed backhand from time to time!

Go, Spaniards everywhere! Alcaraz is mounting a comeback...

He kept at it and they started working to great effect later in the match. Got to one point late when Sinner stopped running for them. Theory was that his legs were giving out. At the end however Sinner did start running for them again.

Down 3-5, 0-40, championship points, not serving, and takes it to a 5th set? Crazy.

Another tweeted: "Sinner lost the final but won every heart in Paris."

A third fan added: "So much class, even in this defeat. He knows he had the match in his hands and it will be very hard to digest…one thing for sure is that he always learns from his mistakes."

Someone else wrote: "Sinner gained my respect today."

A fifth commented: "He is a true champion by his demeanour."

Another fan said: "So humble - he will come back stronger."
