2025 Kentucky Derby predictions, odds, date, horses, post positions:

Surprising picks from horse racing expert
When is the 2025 Kentucky Derby? The annual Run for the Roses takes place Saturday, May 3, at Churchill Downs at 6:57 p.m. ET

It has been a decade since a jockey had back-to-back wins in the Kentucky Derby, a feat that Brian Hernandez Jr. can pull off when the 2025 Kentucky Derby goes to post on Saturday at Churchill Downs. He rode Mystik Dan to victory a year ago and will be aboard Burnham Square on Saturday. Mystik Dan was a 20-1 longshot, while Burnham Square is 12-1 in the 2025 Kentucky Derby odds. Just three 2025 Kentucky Derby horses are bigger favorites than the Blue Grass Stakes winner, who has prevailed in three of his last four starts.

The two Baffert-trained horses, Citizen Bull and Rodriguez, are partially owned by Starlight Racing. The owner is the son of my MIL's third husband. When he died, the son treated my MIL like horse manure on the bottom of his shoe. So yeah, I'll enjoy seeing karma take it's toll on his horses.

Obviously best to take care of the horse. Hopefully, he and Mike Smith will be back for the Preakness.

The best horse may get blocked out and the danger of a spill is also increased. Jayson Werth has a horse entered, Flying Mohawk, who just won a claiming race.

Neat tradition and her being asked to do it.
