First lady Jill Biden said on Monday that she wants both Iowa and LSU to make the trip to the White House following Sunday night’s national championship game.
Tigers star forward Angel Reese disagrees, and she made her feelings on the matter known on Monday via Twitter.
“A JOKE,” wrote the sophomore on Twitter, alongside a trio of crying-laughing emojis.
Reese, who was named the NCAA tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, played a crucial role in LSU winning the program’s first-ever national title. And she clearly doesn’t want to share the stage at the White House with Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes.
I know we'll have the champions come to the White House, we always do. So, we hope LSU will come. But, you know, I'm going to tell Joe I think Iowa should come, too, because they played such a good game,” said the first lady on Monday, via ESPN.
In the eyes of Reese, Iowa receiving an invitation to the White House alongside LSU would be laughable, and she made that clear with her reaction on Twitter.
During the waning moments of Sunday’s championship matchup, Reese could be seen gesturing towards Clark, doing the John Cena “you can’t see me” hand motion, as well as pointing to her ring finger.
The Tigers defeated the Hawkeyes 102-85, setting a record for the most points scored in a NCAA tournament title game.
