in silence

alive in the silent world with eyes half closed
reaching the little things discarding all value
once reality has unfurled and fantasy imposed
listen as a last bird sings clear pure and true
time kills all life and love the bones buried deep
slowly sinking forgotten a last memory fading
in quiet to push and shove closer devils creep
covered in a shroud besotten by time wading
dying in whirl of violence screams shattering
the moment between life and death unnoticed
a limit to god’s balance of the souls battering
misthrown the dead dice are landing unfocused
sounds cannot seep in words cannot leak out
a bed not to sleep in but a coffin’s meek shout
