hear the ghost moan restless as if in great pain
sounds of emotional despair and helpless death
grasping the past breathless judging the blame
tree roots ripped bare a soul no longer blessed
bound still and motionless hard etched or stark
reach for objects now gone memory once alive
now closed of the openness existing in the dark
processions so far beyond any desire to survive
spirits drift a black cloud which covers the sun
each breath seems hopeless each exhale weaker
mixing the quiet and loud that melodic to shun
a body appearing boneless a heart now bleaker
and the hours crying timeless blessing the water
the brave shying spineless pressing the slaughter
