Confident to a fault
Knowing the design, the plan
A plot for a grand goal
The fates of millions in the balance
The Jester runs the castle
No kings, no queens, no wise men
The walls crumble, but his minions pretend
All is well
that they are protected
Every action grounded in certainty
Animal instinct is never wrong
A gut feeling leads to fixed decision
Every choice barred from connected consequence.
Like clowns in the circus, no seriousness,
No knowledge, no purpose, no foresight
Their makeup, a horror, no good at heart
Murderous scowls carved on their pasty faces.
--
When one is so sure of the path
With a blindfold covering the eyes
The cliff nearby so dangerous
Unknown, unseen, not considered
One wrong turn, and down you fall
No hope for recovery
Not an educated guess
Just a hope and a prayer
The incompetent ones hold our lives
In their wavering greedy grip
Over the endless drop of the cliff we go
