Here's one of mine; it's not a haiku.

I was lucky enough to have it published.

A Thick Gold Band--or The Taxi Driver

Rounded edges glowed
true
brown velvet was his hand and dark from Ethiopia
the gold ring
shone

The radio sang
music quick and fast
voices agile joyful rhythmic
was he homesick
had he been back

The gold band spoke of love
perhaps a wife a child
I didn’t ask

The gold ring shone.

This actually happened. I was coming home from a trip and this man was my cab driver. His wedding ring really caught my eye, with this result.

I have been very fortunate. And yes, luck does play a role! There are multitudes of small publishers all over the USA and many poets like myself competing to get in.

It has changed how I see the world.

Below is the link for the Spring/Summer 2020 issue that it appears in. If you really want to see it, I guess you'll have to buy the issue. It's about $12 or $13 dollars.
