My local library has a thing called "Shelf Awareness" where they have a different topic each month.

You sign up for it and they give you a box with a book of their choosing and some papers, like a puzzle or word game. This month, the topic is Banned Books and my box had Slaughterhouse Five in it. I haven't read that book in years and I'm looking forward to rereading it. I was quite a fan of Kurt Vonnegut back in the day. I even had a kitten that I named Kilgore Trout! LOL! I haven't thought of that in years.

It is "one of the world's great anti-war books."

So, I looked it up. Wiki says,

"In 2024 the book was banned in Texas by the Katy Independent School District on the basis that the novel is "adopting, supporting, or promoting gender fluidity"

I couldn't for the life of me figure out why they were banned but I'm pretty sure the reason was stupid.
