Nicolae Ceausescu 25 December 1989

With the collapse of the Eastern bloc, Nicolae Ceausescu of Romania and his wife Elena were charged with:

Genocide;
Organizing armed actions against the people and the state;
Destroying and damaging public property;
Undermining the national economy; and
Trying to flee the country with $1 billion stolen and deposited in foreign banks.

Between about 1PM and 2PM on 25 December 1989, they were granted a trial while a firing squad was assembled. At the end of the trial, they were condemned, marched outside, and shot
