Related: About this forumWe managed to whittle down Holly's estimate considerably
due to not running tests that are "not necessary at this time." Whew! The bottom line is the vet doesn't know what's wrong with her, but bloodwork will hopefully point them in the right direction. She always screams the whole time at the vet's office and she did when we first walked in and for a minute afterwards and hasn't made a peep since. She's lost four pounds since last year. Four pounds! I just noticed last week that she seems thinner; I don't know how I missed that before. I guess I paid more attention to Martini because of her health issues and didn't watch Holly as closely because she was the healthy one. I feel terrible about that.

(6,744 posts)I noticed her losing a lot of weight and when we ran the tests she was in stage 5 renal failure. I had another Persian who had the same and we decided we would do the IV's at home. It only extended his life a while and put him in a lot of misery. So decided not to do that to her.
Just got her ashes back, we miss her so much.
Best thoughts for your kitty.

(3,535 posts)I extend to you my condolences. I know how hard it is to lose our beloved pets. They're more than pets, they're family and it's heartbreaking. I hope sweet memories of your kitty will eventually bring you peace and comfort.
Thank you for your thoughts about my Holly.
