Related: About this forumThe two kittens arrived yesterday!
I dumped their very unsuitable names.
I now have Nialls (a 3 month old kitten) and Guarda (a 10 month old kitten).
I was told it would take weeks for them to come out of their shells.
WRONG.
Within one hr. they were under my bed and eating lots of Fancy Feast. I've got me a pair of happy kittens.
Missy is growling a bit but when the little kitten ventured out into the garage, she went out there and fetched him back indoors. She's watching everything very carefully!
I'm so thrilled!
And the icing on the cake is that the lawsuit I've been in for almost two years came through last night.
What a great day!
These are what you call GOOD LUCK kitties!
The tide has changed!
everyone!

(21,920 posts)Went well last night. I kept them in the extra bedroom and when it was time for bed, Missy came in and slept next to me all night.
I got up this a.m. and no food was left in the extra room
Guarda came rushing out and RAN into the garage where the litter boxes are set-up. He knew!
I have an extra litter box in the room with them for the night but Guarda didn't need it.
I've got me a very smart Maine Coon it seems.

(21,920 posts)He nailed me as I was leaving the rescue. He had a kitten with him as he needs one, that is why I adopted the two of them together!
I am so glad I followed my instincts on this. I knew I needed the protector cat = Guarda.

Thanks for the good wishes!

(910 posts)This is excellent news! I was just wondering if you had ever gotten a new kitty (I was looking at some of my old posts earlier).
It sounds like they're settling in just fine, which tells me it was meant to be.
I wish you, Niall, Guarda and Missy many, many happy years together! 🐈 ❤️

(21,920 posts)It was touch and go for awhile there.
One of the volunteers that took me to the store when I had no car told me I was going blind and that I'd be needing shots in my eyes!
I thought I'd best forget it if this was the case but the doctor called me and said "See you next year".
The volunteer was way out of line and that was simply not true!
So glad I didn't give up!

I just got up and opened the door to the room I have Garda and Nialls in. They were both on the bed (Garda = biggest kitten in this picture; Nialls is the littlest one on the far lower left

Garda came out and allowed me to pet him a few times. No more cowering. Some sick person must have hit him in the past! SHAME!
Garda made the rounds and little Nialls was in his new little cat house I got him from Macy's. I was able to put it together all by myself! Yeah!
Big beautiful black kitty Missy was in bed with me all night purring away.
She is no longer a lonely kitty!

So, this is my update for the day!
Have a happy day everyone!
