I did a test pull of garlic. WOW!!

I photographed it next to a Hydrangea, just to give some perspective to the size. And this wasn't from one of the big stalks. I hope those have even bigger delights. I might start the harvest on Sunday. Tomorrow is going to be a scorcher.

4. What area of the country are you in? Do you hang it in the basement?

And how long before you use it? Sorry about all the questions. We're in southern New England and will probably did it up in a week or so.

And that's a beauty.

I hang it in the screened in porch and/or garage. I have a dehumidifier in the basement but I still use those two areas. The air circulation is much better.

Generally I let it 'season' for about 3 to 4 weeks, or when the stalks are completely dried out.

Funny, though. I was thinking about looking up some good ways to preserve it.

52 seconds long

The one I saw added a little olive oil in the mincing/blending... But still freezing flat in baggies to easily break off the amount you need.
Plenty more videos w/ideas!

I'm also thinking about making a garlic puree. Maybe try freezing it in an ice cube tray and then popping the portions in to a zip lock bag. I make one out of minced garlic and it's a great way to make garlic butter.
