Breakfast Monday 1 September 2025

Later today I'm planning on scrambling tofu with spinach, tomatoes and onions; a pot of hot tea to drink.

Neighbors called the other day, and asked if they could have a cookout by the pond this afternoon on Labor Day. So around three or so, looks like I will have people fishing and grilling.

Happy Labor Day

Havarti cheese toasted on thick French bread.
I would love to see your pond Emile. We have a small pond with waterfall for our Koi.

and you could see them with their bright orange color. I tried replacing them several times, but the catfish eat them. I have two flathead catfish over 50 pounds, that love to eat.

Pizza with fried egg on top. Bet I can find an anchovy, too. A couple kalamatas.

and I discovered a watermelon rind 100 feet from the garden. Deer or raccoons? Around 8:30 last night I said to Loretta, I'm worried we're going to lose more, because they are all ripe. So I got my little tractor out, and with headlights picked 12 watermelons. I left 4 melons in the garden that weren't quite ready yet. I'm going down to the garden here in a bit to see if they're still there.

If you think they care if it's ripe or not. They will savage your entire crop. You were really smart to grab those melons like you did last night. Cover the remaining melons with netting. They will try one but after that they leave the netted melons alone.

I have a battery operated pole saw but it's too heavy for me to use. They can save you a fortune on tree limb removal if you use them regularly. I'm gonna' have to get a tall, strong guy over here soon to do this for me.
