Mental Health Support
Related: About this forumI've had exactly one nightmare free night this week.
They pretty much all run along the same theme. Me needing help but everyone just ignores me or watches me struggle. Even the people I know I can rely on for help. I wake up, exhausted.
Last night's as a doozy, adding abandonment to the list. Oh, and people laughing at me. That's a common element.
My next appointments aren't until next month. I'm just going to have to add the Klonopin to my daily routine. I've been trying to just go with the Buspar but, obviously, that is not sufficient.
I really need some coffee.

(9,565 posts)I am really sorry for having to go through that. It sucks when the mind decides to create scenarios like that irregardless of your wishes.
However...
With all due respect and love... that caffeine is NOT helping you. I had to switch to decaf some time ago, and it does make a difference.
(I usually get the hairy eyeball from baristas when I ask if they have decaf coffee. "Yes, I know, kid. Back in the day, we baristas called a decaf latte with skim milk a 'why bother'... been there, done that. However, my body has decreed differently now, and this is how things are. Just tell me if you have it or not, thanks."
I hope you can find some peace from those nightmares. I will send what good vibes I can for you.

(27,772 posts)Some days I don't drink any.
I used to drink MUCH more but cut back about a year ago. It's just one of the few things that I really enjoy. Just lots less, now.

(9,565 posts)I used to be a coffee lunatic. A quick story for you, my fellow coffee person.
I once went into a Radio Shack to get some parts. While there, I noticed that the staff were rather busy and there were a few customers who were just at the counter to ask about the location of certain things. Well, I took it upon myself to be helpful, as I knew the layout of a Radio Shack like the back of my hand (electronics forever!). The manager saw me doing this and the fact that I knew where everything was. When I got to the counter, she asked me if I wanted a job. I didn't have a steady job at the time, so I said sure.
I went in for the interview and we sat and talked for a bit. One thing she said was, "I hope you like coffee! We drink a lot of it around here." I assured her that I did like it. She mentioned that she had already had one today. I said that I had just finished my second before coming to the store for the interview. We finished our chat and she then showed me around the store and so on.
As we we were finishing up, she grabbed her mug and said, "Welp, I guess it is time for number two!"
I stoped and smiled at her. "Oh, you said you had already had one." She nodded. I said, "Oh, you meant cups."
She replied, "Yea... wait, what did you mean?" My smile got bigger.
"Pots."
Suffice to say, she was stunned. I went on to tell her that, because it was summer, I had only had a few pots today. In the cold weather, I would drink it all day long.
I will never forget the look on her face when I said, 'Pots'.

(1,692 posts)I hope your nightmares come to an end. I know how terrifying they can be. I wish I had the right words to make you feel better. Just know that I, like so many others here, care about you (and the kid cats!) and you can always count on your DU family to be here for you.
