I've been soloing for this past week

My wife has been out of town. Just a few years ago, this would be the perfect excuse to get really hammered every night. And for the first couple years, when I was on my own, I was really tempted to sneak a few drinks, knowing I wouldn't get caught. But I'd know I cheated. This time I haven't had any urges at all! The only thing I do differently is I went to the pastry shop and bought some really nice treats. Hey, I deserve it!

She comes home tomorrow and it's nice to know I don't have to load all my empties and take them to the shopping center and toss them in the garbage can there. Being a sneak always made me feel guilty.

Your inner strength and character are driven by inner forces, an inner morality.
Not what other people tell you to do.

This is really important in your growth as an adult.
It is a high level of morality and a measure of strength of character.

If an alcoholic starts drinking again, they go right back to where they were when they stopped. When I went into treatment I would have sworn that I was completely sober. They did a blood test, and I was at .10, which was the legal limit for driving in my state, back then, almost forty years ago.

Good work though. My question is, over the past week, have you always put the toilet lid down when you were done using it?

I've been well trained after 40 plus years of marriage!

Except for short periods of time, I have always lived with a woman for the past 57 years. Leaving the seat up when I am alone must mean my training failed.
