Huge Gas Pipeline Erupts in Omsk - Why is Russia SO Accident Prone?! - Silicon Curtain

Silicon Bites Ep271 | News Update - Day 1,364 - 2025-11-18 | A gas pipeline in Siberia blowing a 40-metre flame into the sky near the village of Rostovka. A Turkish LPG tanker, MT Orinda, burning on the Danube, just 500 metres from NATO territory. And in between them, a brand-new US–Ukraine gas corridor that Moscow clearly wants everyone to think twice about using.

Rostovka: “Repair work” or something more? We start in Russia’s Omsk region, early morning, 18 November. Around 5 a.m., residents near the village of Rostovka woke up to a giant column of fire. Videos raced across Telegram and Reddit: a gas pipeline had ruptured and ignited just outside Omsk city. (Euromaidan Press)

Regional governor Vitaly Khotsenko went on Telegram to reassure people. His first message:
“In the area of the village of Rostovka in Omsk district, a fire broke out in a field. There are no casualties. One version suggests a gas leak from a pipeline.” (Euromaidan Press)
In a follow-up, he clarified that the ignition was “the result of an accident that occurred on an underground section of the main branch pipeline.” (Euromaidan Press)
