Polish PM Donald Tusk says explosion on railway track was caused by sabotage - Midday Report - TVP WORLD



Poland’s Prime Minister has confirmed that a section of railway in the central part of the country was damaged in an act sabotage. An investigation is ongoing into who might have planted the suspected explosive device, with the incident occurring at a time of heightened hybrid warfare activity by Russia all across Europe.

Poland is reopening two border crossings with neighboring Belarus, both of which had been closed due to security concerns. Pressure from local communities is leading the authorities to reconsider their decision, yet questions about the role of Belarus in the ongoing security crisis in Europe remain. Lithuania recently took the opposite decision, sealing off the Belarusian border last month.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a major arms deal between his country and France during his official visit to Paris. Under the agreement, Ukraine is expected to receive 100 French-made fighter jets, as Kyiv continues to boost its military capabilities in the face of the ongoing Russian invasion.
