(113,927 posts)He's an economist by education in Russia and the US. He knows where to find the information the Russian regime wants to keep hidden and is courageous enough to report it.
I had discovered his channel before the major invasion in 2022, back then he was trying to explain Russia to non Russians, a nice travelogue of both Moscow and Rostov on Don. He demonstrated against the invasion, got hauled in by the cops, and six months later enough hieghly placed colleagues told him to GTFO that he did. He now streams from Tashkent in Uzbekistan.
His information is mostly solid and predates the European media by about 3 months, the US media longer than that.
I suggest his channel for anyone who can cope with slightly wonkish information that gives a pretty good picture of what's going on in Russia these days.
Oh, and Putin's response to businesses that are going bankrupt? He's nationalizing them. I have to wonder if this isn't the return to the Russian take on Communism that I predicted back in the late 90s, to howls of protest from people who thought they knew better, even after I posted link after link to article after article about nostalgia for that era among Russians. Plus ça change......
