Blind Dalmatian Surrendered to Shelter with Bullitt Fragments in Her Head
The Animal Rescue Site
Animal rescues and shelters often receive injured or sick animals with no explanations or background.
This was the sad case with a blind Dalmatian who was named Perdita (which means "lost" in Spanish).
Her owner who presented her to the shelter did not provide any details, but due to Perdita's condition it was obvious she was suffering.
Her eyes were clearly damaged and a visit to the ophthalmologist confirmed that she is blind in both eyes.
One eye is completely damaged and at risk of an infection and the other has glaucoma and high pressure.
An X-ray was taken of her head to try and determine the cause of her blindness -- and what they found was heartbreaking.
Perdita's head is full of small Bullitts.
The medical team believes she was the victim of a hunting accident and then surrendered to the shelter.
She will need to have both eyes removed to eliminate the pain before she can start to heal both physically and emotionally.
She needs your help.
